    Swim Team Info

    • Team

      The swim team runs from mid-June through the last weekend of July.

      Swim meets are Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Our league competes with local pools in Springfield, Abington, Cheltenham, and Hatboro Townships.

      Competitive swimmers should be able to commit to at least four of the six swim meets. Competition is fun and really the best part of the season!

      Pre-Competitive swimmers are encouraged to swim at one meet during the season!

      In addition to swim meets, lots of fun events are hosted by the team throughout the season. The annual team pancake breakfast and team trip to Movie Tavern are swimmers’ favorites!

    • Readiness

      Competitive swimmers should be able to swim AT LEAST four laps of the pool- 100 meters- without stopping. Basic knowledge of the four competitive strokes- butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle- are a MUST.

      Pre-Competitive swimmers should be able to swim at least two laps of the pool- swimming either freestyle or breaststroke- without stopping.

      There are many swimmers “on the fence” each season. The coaches hold tryouts in early June to determine each swimmer’s readiness.

      Parents should be ready and willing to volunteer at swim meets!

    • Practice

      Campers’ Practice 7:30-8:45am This practice is open to all campers, especially members of Flourtown Summer Day Camp. Campers head right up to day camp at the conclusion of practice.

      Non-Campers’ Practice 8:45am-10am

      This practice is open to all other members of the team.

      Pre-Competitive Practice 9:30am-10am

      There is no required practice attendance, but we suggest a minimum of 3 practices a week to maximize what you get out of the program!

    Swim Team Pricing & Fees

    $60 for the first swimmer, $50 for additional swimmers

    Swim Team is FREE for Flourtown Day Camp Participants!

    Per the by-laws of our swim league, the Liberty Swim League, swimmers cannot compete in more than one summer team. If you are a member of another swim, you are unable to join the Flourtown Swim Team. By registering for the Gators, you acknowledge that you are not enrolled on another summer swim team.
